Since CONFIDEX Predictable Digital Treatment Planning has been launched by Six Month Smiles on 1st November I have been quite excited and have been itching to use it.
You may have seen my post earlier this week: I proudly became one of the few Orthodontists to become certified as a Six Month Smiles® provider. Over the years, I’ve coached hundreds of General Dentists with various aligner systems. All too often, finishing cases is a significant barrier to overcome and trying to educate General Dentists who have no knowledge of basic straight-wire biomechanics is a challenge at its core.
I did it – I successfully completed the Level 1 course from Six Month Smiles. As an Orthodontist with 10+ years of clinical experience with thousands of fixed and removable outcomes under my belt, this may by counter-intuitive. Truthfully, Six Month Smiles certification has been on my orthodontic bucket-list for years now. It’s a wildly successful brand, both nationally and internationally. Doctors rave about the services, support, and experience. I wanted to know the “secret sauce”.
Do all of your team members have straight teeth?
If not, it might be time to make them an advocate for the treatment you want to sell. If any of your team members could benefit from short term ortho, consider investing in their smile to get patients interested in treatment.
Caring for your teeth is a priority, and for most of us, brushing our teeth in the morning after we've had our coffee and breakfast and again before we hit the sack is second nature. Our parents did (one of) their jobs and trained us well. After all, once we lose our baby teeth and get our permanent teeth, that's it. They're ours to take care of and keep, or abuse and lose! But although most of us are good about the brushing part, many of us neglect cleaning between our teeth, a.k.a. flossing. The importance of flossing is stressed by our dentists, yet many of us just don't bother. Why? Perhaps it's laziness, or maybe it "grosses us out", or is uncomfortable with closely spaced teeth. Whatever the reason, however, we need to face some important facts to learn once and for all why we must take the time to floss once a day.
Are you tired of hiding your smile because you aren’t comfortable with crooked teeth? Do you need something to help boost your self-confidence? There is good news. Six Months Smiles offers an alternative that will give you the straight, beautiful smile you desire without spending years in braces. With short term orthodontics you will:
Did you know that (statistically) the first thing people notice about each other on a first date is the smile? It’s not the eyes, the hair or the figure although these might be important too. It’s the openness and sincerity of the smile.
Patient referrals are a powerful incentive for your practice. There's nothing better than hearing from another patient just how happy they are with their cleaning, their fillings, or their orthodontic work. If you're looking to harness the power of patient referrals for your practice, there are several steps that will make getting them easier.

I’m so happy to be writing this post. June last year I decided to get a brace fitted and I just recently got it taken off. I won’t go into much detail but the photos will clearly illustrate how pleased I am with my decision. I thought it was super important to blog about this because since having the brace I realised how much of a big deal it wasn’t. I was so nervous about getting one in my 20’s and I felt ridiculous for the most part. I couldn’t help thinking I would look stupid and strange and that people would just stare at them. Quite a few people have told me they want one. My advice would be don’t care about what other people think just do it for you.
“You are kidding, RIGHT??? Now I Have To Add WHAT Into The Hygiene Visit?”
Do you ever cringe when the dentist/owner announces she is going to an educational workshop to learn a new technique or procedure? Let’s be honest: you may get anxious not because you are against professional development or an enhanced service mix, but because you think, “Now what else am I going to be told to cram into a hygiene appointment?”
