Kelly's Six Month Smiles Story #8 Braces Off

by 6monthsmiles, on 12/22/15 9:26 AM

Over the last few months, I’ve been telling you all about my experience with Six Month Smiles, and I’m back now for my final update, and finished with treatment! Only 5 and a half months! My name is Kelly and I'm quickly gaining confidence through my new smile.

Here are some resources to learn more about Six Month Smiles Clear Braces:

Video #8: My Six Month Smiles® Experience

I got my braces off!

I’m so happy with the results, and I’m so glad I chose to get Six Month Smiles.  My entire treatment time was five and half months – not bad at all!

I was at Bensonhurst Dental a few days ago for the ‘braces-off’ appointment. Dr. Rubinshtein removed the bite-stops I had on my back teeth, and took off the brackets from my teeth.  The procedure was painless, quick and easy.  It felt a little strange at first, after being used to the braces for the last several months, but strange in a good way.  After removing the braces, she had to do a bit of polishing to remove the cement that was used to bind the braces to my teeth, but that was about it.  Some minor adjustments were needed on my two top front teeth, which are veneers, so that my teeth came together correctly, and now I’m as good as new –better, even. For some reason I thought that my teeth would be a little discolored, but they’re not at all.  They look and feel really, really good.

The only other thing that happened at that appointment was that she took a mold of my lower teeth and made a little plastic tray in the shape of my new teeth, that I will simply wear over my teeth for the next ten days, until my next appointment.  It is just to keep the teeth where they are until I get my permanent retainer put on.  The permanent retainer will just be a thin wire on the back of my teeth to keep them all in place where they are now.  I hear that it is not even noticeable when it is put in.  And that will be the last step!

I think that if anyone is considering getting the Six Month Smiles braces, you should go for it.  It is worth it.  The time goes by very quickly and you’ll have your results so soon.  The change in my teeth is unbelievable in such a short time.  They’re perfect now!  Two of my sisters are getting ready to get their own teeth fixed with Six Month Smiles, now that they’ve seen how it went for me.  I’m very happy how this all turned out.  Thanks for reading!
